AnnMarie’s Porch Punch
AnnMarie’s Porch Punch – The Backyard Pour that Never Ran Out
There was always a pitcher on the table. Never fancy. Never store-bought. Iced tea, lemonade, maybe some orange slices if they were on sale. AnnMarie made sure everyone had a glass in their hand—even the neighbors who didn’t plan on staying. It was sweet, tart, and perfect for those post-parade cookouts when the heat finally showed up. This punch isn’t complicated, and that’s exactly why it works.
Ingredients
- 4 cups brewed black tea (chilled)
- 4 cups lemonade (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 orange, sliced into wheels
- 1 lemon, sliced into wheels
- Fresh mint (a few sprigs, optional)
- Ice, for serving
- Optional: 1–2 oz bourbon or vodka per glass for the grown-ups
Instructions
- Brew your tea strong and chill it completely in the fridge.
- In a large pitcher, combine the tea, lemonade, and orange juice. Stir well.
- Add sliced citrus and fresh mint. Stir again and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve over ice. Let the grown-ups add a splash of bourbon or vodka if they’re feeling it.
Chef Paddy’s Tip
- Use sweet tea if you want more Southern-style punch. Unsweetened works too—the lemonade will balance it.
- If the citrus is too sharp, stir in a spoonful of honey or simple syrup.
- This punch holds up in the heat—just refill the ice and keep pouring. AnnMarie wouldn’t let a cup sit empty.
Let’s cook with heart and hustle.
