Green Beans with Bacon— Charlie’s Birthday Style

Tender green beans simmered with bacon and seasoning for a savory, down-home side.

  • 4 (15 oz) cans green beans, drained
  • 10–12 slices bacon, chopped
  • ⅔ cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Cook the bacon. In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
    2. Sauté aromatics. In the same pan, add diced onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
    3. Build the beans. Add green beans, chicken broth, butter, sugar, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
    4. Season. Sprinkle in Let’s Get After It Blend and mix well.
    5. Simmer. Cover and simmer on medium-low for 10–15 minutes until tender and flavorful.
    6. Finish. Stir in the cooked bacon and serve hot.
