Stars, Sips & Stripes
You don’t need alcohol to make a statement. This chilled, patriotic mocktail layers tart cranberry, coconut lemonade, and bright blue sports drink over crushed ice to create a drink that’s bold, refreshing, and built for the moment. It’s kid-friendly, cookout-ready, and perfect for the gram.
Ingredients
- ½ cup cranberry juice (or pomegranate juice for extra tartness)
- ½ cup coconut water + lemonade mix (or white grape juice for a sweeter version)
- ½ cup blue sports drink (like Gatorade Frost or blue raspberry lemonade)
- Crushed ice
- Optional: frozen blueberries, raspberries, mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a clear glass all the way to the top with crushed ice.
- Slowly pour in cranberry juice to fill the bottom third.
- Mix your coconut water and lemonade (or use white grape juice). Gently pour over the back of a spoon to form the white middle layer.
- Slowly pour the blue sports drink on top, again using the spoon to keep layers separate.
- Garnish with frozen berries and a mint sprig. Serve immediately.
Chef Paddy’s Tip
- Layering works best when each layer has a different sugar level—heaviest on the bottom, lightest on top.
- Crushed ice is key. It helps the layers hold and gives the drink texture.
- Want to prep ahead? Freeze the red and blue layers into cubes and stack them with clear lemonade between.
Let’s cook—and sip—with heart and hustle.
