Founding Pour-Fathers
This isn’t a shandy. It’s a declaration. Built with bold bourbon, tart cherry, citrus, and a crisp summer ale, Founding Pour-fathers is the drink you raise when the grill’s hot, the playlist’s loud, and the day’s worth remembering.
Ingredients
- ½ oz cherry juice concentrate (or ¼ oz high-quality grenadine)
- ½ oz sweet vermouth
- ½ oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz bourbon
- 8 oz Sam Adams Summer Ale (or citrus-forward wheat beer)
- Optional: Luxardo cherry or lemon wheel for garnish
Instructions
- In a chilled pint glass, add cherry juice (or grenadine), sweet vermouth, lemon juice, and bourbon.
- Slowly pour in the beer to preserve carbonation. Let it foam and settle.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel or Luxardo cherry.
- Serve ice cold and sip with caution—it’s smooth but strong.
Chef Paddy’s Tip
- Use real cherry juice concentrate for a bolder finish, or quality grenadine if needed.
- Float a cherry on top for a clean presentation.
- Want to batch it? Multiply ingredients and mix gently in a pitcher just before serving.
Let’s cook—and toast—with heart and hustle.
